Dr. Francis S. Matarazzo

 Dr. Francis Matarazzo earned his dental degree with high honors from Temple University Dental School and immediately thereafter served his country as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He continued his post-doctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania in the world renowned program of Periodontal-Prosthesis, under the tutelage of Professors Morton Amsterdam and D. Walter Cohen.  The dual specialty certification he earned in Periodontics and Prosthodontics allowed him to attain a clinical associate professorship at Penn. While there, he was instrumental in developing the "Pennsylvania Experiment," a program that utilized a mentor approach to teaching comprehensive dentistry.  This exciting new learning paradyme has since become a permanent aspect of Penn's educational process.

 Dr. Matarazzo's  periodontal background provides an excellent foundation for all aspects of dentistry; it allows for a seamless approach from diagnosis to treatment planning - whether the cases are simple or complex, such as implants and augmentation procedures.

 With his years of experience, he recognizes that each patient has their own special needs, desires, and expectations; they are all unique individuals. Dr. Matarazzo stays in touch with the most important clinical research and development so that he can provide up to date  solutions for any dental problems. He has also made it a priority to utilize state-of-the-art technology and equipment throughout the office. He is a fellow and member of several professional societies including the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Philadelphia County Dental Society, and the International College of Oral Implantology.

 Dr. Matarazzo is the proud father of four children. He and his wife Anita enjoy the outdoors by virtue of their garden at home and vacations that allow for vigorous exercise. His downtime is filled with reading, music, and enjoying his closest friends and family.
